Happy Friday everyone!
After I started to do Coffee & Chocolate Milk project, I’ve found out I’m kind of good with messing around with clay. So lately, I decided to take on the challenge of wheel throwing. And MAN, it was not what I pictured at all! But it’s really fun and sort of addictive after couple of classes. If I end up with a successful piece, I will share the picture with you guys. Have a wonderful weekend!!
Happy Friday everyone!
The weather has been yucky. So the best way for us to spend our Saturday night is going to a movie and be very geeky about it. What’s your weekend plan?
Hello everyone, how’s your week so far?
Lately, there are just too many sad news that’s going on all over the world. Too much violence, hatred, cruelness and sadness. So I wanted to create a photo that is peaceful, hopeful, happy and bring warmth to our hearts. Happy spring everyone, give a flower to people you love and give them a big big hug!
Happy Chinese New Year! We can’t wait to feast on yummy food for the Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner this weekend. This year is the Year of Monkey, and is M’s year! Wish everyone a wonderful year!
So storm Jonas brought us more then 2 feet of snow this past Sat. We had a blast playing in the soft, fresh, powdery snow yesterday. But when it’s time to go to work today, it’s no fun at all.
R: Do you think we should tell her that the ball doesn’t come out?
M: Nah. That’s why I bought this toy.
R: For Chapeau to exercise?
M: That too. But mainly for my own entertainment.
R: What are you doing?
M: Praying to Snowman God.
M: Winter is finally here. So I am praying to Snowman God to give us snow in NY, so I can go snowboarding!!
Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas is my favorite holiday. The smell of the fresh tree, the beautiful lights everywhere, putting the cute Charlie Brown Christmas Forever Stamps on greeting cards, eating snowman shape cookies, and even seeing people wearing ugly sweaters on the street makes me happy. I can’t wait to open the presents and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with M on Christmas morning! Wish you all have a wonderful holiday!
Rabbit, Monkey & Chapeau

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have a wonderful holiday!!
Happy friday everyone! Last week I got a stomach virus, man, it was horrible. For couple days, I basically spent the whole day between the bathroom and the bed. But no worries, I am all good now. I have to say, being able to eat real food is a bless! Wash your hands and have a wonderful weekend.
You know you are still jet lagged when you go to work in your PJ and take your pillow as computer bag.
Happy friday everyone! We’ve been back from our trip for awhile now, but still get sleepy very early at night and feel tired all day.
Gees, this make us feel old! But maybe it’s a chance for us to adjust our sleeping schedule. After all, sleep early and get up early should be good for you, especially we have very short daylight, right? How do you overcome your jet lag?
Happy November everyone! Sorry for missing for a month. We went back home to spend time with family and friends, and mostly eating all the food we’ve been craving for. Then we went to Japan for Tokyo Design Week and of course … toys! We walked all day and night but still didn’t have enough time to see everything on our list. Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun. However, after couple weeks of traveling, we are very happy to be back home!! I’ve missed Chapeau’s silly face. Good to be back and will get back to our weekly posting! Stay tuned…
Here is the eclipse, see it in action from the previous post!
Happy Friday everyone! So last weekend, we witnessed the super cool natural phenomenon: the amazing blood moon eclipse. Coincidentally, it happened right on the date of The Mid-Autumn Festival. For those of you who is wondering what that is, here is the Wikipedia answer for you: “The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated by ethnic Chinese and Vietnamese people.” On this day, family would get together and eat moon cake! Somehow, it became a BBQ day in Taiwan as well. Not sure why, but it’s fun! Since we didn’t have moon cake here in NY, I imagine myself eating the whole moon and caused the eclipse. Have a wonder weekend!
Officially, today is the last day of summer. One of the things I love about living in NY is that we have distinct four seasons. As we entering fall, all the trees have started to turn yellow, an extra layer is needed in the morning and night. I can’t wait for apple picking, pumpkin-carving party and walking under beautiful leaves fall. What’s your favorite fall activities?
To catch the last bit of summer, we went on a camping trip in Ithaca last week. It was BEAUTIFUL! The best part of our hike was the waterfalls where you can just jump right in when you get hot and sweaty. It was so much fun. We spent so much time in the water and had to rush back to our camp site before the sun went down. Our legs were super sore afterwards but it’s so worth it!!
Hello everyone! Labor Day weekend is coming up, what are your plans? We are planning to go camping this weekend, can’t wait to walk in the woods and enjoy the nature. Living in the city, we both miss the smell of the woods the grass and the fresh air. Since we can’t go to the nature that often, we try to bring some home. Every morning, while I enjoy my cup of coffee, I like to look at all our plants next to the window and imagine that I am taking a quiet walk in the woods. What kind of home plants do you have?
M: Babe, I am sorry. But I’m afraid I can’t fix it.
I’ve always been a coffee drinker, and lucky me, there is always an espresso machine in my house since growing up. So turning on the machine, waiting for it to warm up while I made myself breakfast, watching the hot white cloud coming out the steam wand, grinding the beans for 20 seconds, observing the espresso dripping for 25 seconds, listening the sound of milk frothing and finally making myself a perfect cup of coffee to my taste has become a daily morning routine of mine for years. And one morning, my beloved espresso machine just decided to quit on me after a sad spark due to some kind of electric shortage. I guess she was just too tired. Now when I wake up in the morning, I felt some part of me was missing, I miss you, my dear espresso machine!
M: OMG! What happened to you?
R: I fall asleep on the beach with my sunglasses on.
I love sky, to be more precise, I love watching cloud changing in the sky. Something about the white, puffy clouds moving around the very blue sky just bring joy and calmness into my mind. Now that I am married, I sometimes force M to play “guess what shape I am seeing” game with me. It’s silly, but knowing M is by my side and willing to playing this silly game with me just makes me really happy.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Don’t forget to take a moment to look up in the sky, you never know how the clouds will surprise you. If you see something interesting, please share!
R: OMG! What did you do to our bathroom?
M: Well, the weather is beautiful, and I know you hate the crowd.
M: So I decided to bring the beach home! We can have the whole beach all by ourselves, sweet, right?
Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy the beautiful weather!
The past weekend, we went to see the “Alice: 150 Years of Wonderland” exhibition @ The Morgan Library & Museum. It was amazing to see Lewis Carroll’s original manuscript and John Tenniel’s preparatory drawings. It was like taking a time machine back to 1865 and witness the behind-the-scenes process of this classic tale. In today’s post, we are following Alice down the rabbit hole in the amazing pop-up adaptation by Robert Sabuda.

I recently saw a series of lovely photos where people turned their dogs into giant dogs by playing with distances, so I thought I will turn Chapeau into a giant cat today with my little camera. It reminds me that sometimes we should look at things from a different angle, it might just open up a whole new perspective!!
R: Higher, higher and get closer.
M: I can’t go any higher, and it’s difficult to balance when you are on top of my head.
R: Are you saying that I am too heavy?
M: No, I am just saying it’s difficult to balance.
R: Don’t ever comment on a woman’s weight!
Last Sunday, we went for a bike ride on Governors Island. As we were cruising around the island, we found this little charming teaching garden that aims to teach kids about urban farming. I don’t have a green thumb, but seeing a farm in the city makes me really happy. Plus, who can say no to freshly picked berries?

Happy weekend everyone! Today we have two very special guests.
The cute little Rice girl playing the triangle is made by our dear friend Mili Kuo. Mili is a very talented visual & interactive designer, you can check out her work @ http://milikuo.com/
And the lead singer, Elvis the duck is created by M. That’s right, M!!
All of us love music but are not good with music instruments in the real life, so I thought I will make our dreams come true by turning us into a popular indie band in today’s post! And we rock! Hahaha! Have a wonderful weekend!
Hello everyone. Today’s post brings back our childhood memories. M and I saw these mini Rock'em Sock'em Robots that you can play on your fingers. I just had to bring them home. We had “fight” these two little guys with our finger whole afternoon over the weekend. It was so much fun that I decided to create these special robot rides for us. What’s your favorite childhood toy?

Today our special guest is 12 year-old Angel. Here is his story about the lovely fish named Jason:
“In order for Jason to take his rightful seat as king he needs to go on quest to find the majestic relic… a hot dog.”
Thank you Angel for the fish King and hot dog! We had fun diving and deliver the royal hot dog to Jason.
Happy Friday everyone! Today is a very special Friday, the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage NATIONWIDE! Finally, this day has come. It’s time to celebrate!! Have a wonderful weekend.
